The Care Digital Innovation Programme
Free, fully managed custom software development for UK care organisations. You bring the problem — we bring the solution. This page explains exactly what is included, how the process works, and what happens afterwards, so there are no surprises.
The programme is one part of what we do — see what else Elphia Tech builds.
From first message to working system
Step 1
Submit the short form or reply to our email. It takes five minutes and commits you to nothing.
Step 2
A free, informal conversation about how your organisation works today and where the friction is. No slides, no pitch.
Step 3
We write down exactly what we will build and you sign it off before development starts. If the scope is not right, you walk away — no charge, no hard feelings.
Step 4
We build, test and deploy the system, train your team, and support it free for six months afterwards.
What is included at no charge
Everything below is included at no charge under the programme.
- Discovery workshop at your office or by video call
- Solution design and a written, signed scope
- Full development, testing and deployment
- Staff walkthrough and plain-English user guide
- Six months of post-launch support and adjustments
- Documentation and full export of your data, always
What could cost money?
The programme covers all of our work at no charge. The only costs that could ever apply are third-party running costs, which we agree with you in writing before anything is built — and which are typically a few pounds a month:
- Hosting: most programme systems fit inside generous free tiers (Supabase, Vercel). Larger systems may need a paid plan.
- Messaging: sending SMS or high-volume email through third-party providers is charged by them.
- Your own domain: optional, if you want the system on a web address you own.
What happens after six months?
To be transparent about ownership: the software remains owned by Elphia Tech. That is part of how the programme can be free — we may offer the same or similar systems to other care organisations in future. What is always and only yours is your data: it is never shared with anyone and can be exported in full at any time.
When the free support period ends, you have two straightforward options:
- Continue with a simple, transparent paid support arrangement with us.
- Purchase ownership of the system outright, under a separate agreement, if you want it to be yours alone.
Nothing stops working on a cliff-edge date, and whichever route you choose is a decision for later, made with evidence — not something you sign up to today.
Who can participate
The programme is open to UK-registered adult and children's social care organisations of any size — from single-site providers to small groups.
Open to Residential care home, Nursing home, Domiciliary (home) care agency, Supported living, Assisted retirement living, Specialist care, Learning disability support, Other adult and children's social care.
Why you can take this seriously
Transparent programme structure
Every commitment is written down: what we build, when, and what happens afterwards. Nothing depends on trusting a sales pitch.
UK GDPR by design
Encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, UK/EU hosting regions, and a written data agreement before development begins.
Signed scope before development
You sign off exactly what will be built before any code is written. If the scope is not right, you walk away at no cost.
Regulated-sector awareness
We build for the realities of care: CQC evidence trails, safeguarding sensitivities, and information governance your inspectors will ask about.
FAQ
Yes. Discovery, design, development, testing, deployment and the first six months of post-launch support are provided at no charge under the programme. The only costs that could ever apply are third-party running costs — such as hosting beyond free tiers or text-message services — which we agree with you in writing before anything is built, and which are typically only a few pounds a month.
The free support period ends — and to be clear about ownership, the software itself remains owned by Elphia Tech. Because we build it at no charge, we may offer the same or similar systems to other care organisations afterwards. Your own data, however, is never shared with anyone: it stays yours and can be exported in full at any time. If you would like the system to be yours outright, you can purchase ownership from us under a separate agreement — and if you'd like us to keep looking after it, we offer a simple, transparent paid support arrangement.
No. You bring the problem in plain English — the same way you would describe it to a colleague. We handle the technical side entirely, and everything we produce for you (proposals, scopes, user guides) is written to be read by care professionals, not software engineers.
Only what the agreed system actually needs — and only after you have signed a written scope describing exactly that. All systems follow UK GDPR: encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, and hosting in UK or EU data regions. We can support you through a Data Protection Impact Assessment if your information governance requires one.
It depends on the scope, which is why we agree it in writing first. Simple systems are typically measured in weeks rather than months. The timeline is part of the signed scope, so you will know before development starts what to expect and when.
Yes — places are deliberately limited so that every participating organisation gets proper attention. If the current cohort is full, submit your interest anyway; you will be first considered for the next one.
Even better — bring it. The programme accepts organisations with a fully formed idea and organisations who only know that something is costing them time. Both start with the same short conversation.
